Assistant Chief Administrative Officer (Comp No. 08/01)

The Town of Innisfail, population 7,691 , is conveniently located in Central Alberta along the busy QE Highway Corridor. Innisfail has a successful industrial sector, well planned residential areas with excellent recreational facilities.

The Mayor and Council are seeking applications from qualified individuals for the position of Assistant Chief Administrative Officer. It is expected that the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer will fill the position of Chief Administrative Officer upon the CAO’s retirement.

Innisfail is seeking a self-motivated professional with:

  • a solid understanding of municipal operations
  • demonstrated ability to communicate and deal effectively with the public and to build partnerships in the community
  • demonstrated ability to be innovative, progressive and open minded
  • proven ability to promote a productive workplace and to create a customer service environment
  • 3 or more years experience in local government along with post secondary education in a related discipline
  •  certification in local government management
  • membership in the LGAA would be an asset
  • a good knowledge of municipal finances and budget preparation
  • superior leadership capability
  • excellent organizational skills
  • membership in the SLGM or LGAA would be an asset
