TOWN OF INNISFAIL Director of Operations (Comp No. 08/04)

The Town of Innisfail, population 7,691, is conveniently located in Central Alberta along the busy QE Highway Corridor. Innisfail has a successful industrial sector, well planned residential areas with excellent recreational facilities.

The Town of Innisfail is seeking applications from qualified individuals for the position of Director of Operations. The Director of Operations is one of the Town’s four senior management positions. This designated officer position is responsible for the coordination of Utilities, Public Works, Parks and Recreation operations. Reporting to the CAO, the Director is also responsible for:

• Coordinating and providing inspection services for industrial, commercial and residential land developers to ensure compliance with development agreements and Town of Innisfail servicing standards;
• Overseeing the completion of capital projects by the implementation of inspection and accountability programs;
• Providing reasonable and accurate information to residents, reviewing complaint / request forms and ensuring appropriate action is taken to correct concerns;
• Ensuring that the risk management plan and safety program are followed and that employees are trained to reduce the liability of the Town.

The ideal candidate will possess a P Eng. or Certified Engineering Technologist / Technician designation in the Engineering Field with two to five years of experience in municipal service.  Must possess excellent communication skills and a reputation for developing and maintaining a working environment that is highly service orientated.
