Our thriving Central Alberta community is looking for a talented Community and Economic Development Officer. Reporting to the Community Services Director, this position is responsible for developing, facilitating and promoting plans, projects and initiatives that contribute to the development of our community and its economy.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate community and economic development planning to identify and establish economic develop ment opportunities
- Identify opportunities for community economic development to develop local projects and initiatives
- Secure funding for economic development activities and programs
- Assist local organizations, businesses (i.e. Chamber of Commerce, tourism and historical societies) and individuals with establishing economic and community development plans, businesses and projects
- Promote the community to expand economic development opportunities
Qualifications
A degree or diploma in a related discipline combined with a minimum of five years experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of board governance and policy development and an Ec.D. designation are assets.
