The Town of Lacombe is seeking a Planning and Development Technician to work as an integral part of the planning team in processing and approval of subdivision and development permit applications, as well as assisting with the preparation and administration of land use plans.
General Duties
- Primary contact with public for planning and development enquires
- Assist in subdivision and development permit approval processes and maintain all associated databases
- Issue electrical, plumbing and gas permits and maintain all associated databases and POSSE system
- Prepare maps and related visual products using AutoCAD and/or GIS
- Assist the Planner in public meetings by preparing and setting up materials and serving as a resource person
Qualifications
The successful applicant will have a technical diploma from a recognized institute in a discipline related to land use and land use planning, plus a minimum of three years of professional experience. Consideration will be given to candidates that have completed the Applied Land Use Certificate Program. A working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or GIS software is also considered an asset.
