rural area is situated on the west outskirts of Edmonton, stretching
over 2438 sq. km. of picturesque landscapes. We are currently inviting
applications for a:
Parkland County has an exciting
opportunity for a highly competent, results oriented General
Manager to lead our Infrastructure Services Division. Reporting to the Chief
Administrative Officer (CAO), you will be an integral member of
the Senior Management Team, which provides strategic direction
to Parkland County. You will be responsible for providing
operational leadership to department heads to ensure divisional
expectations are achieved; play a key role in advising the CAO,
Senior Management and Council regarding matters relating to Infrastructure
Services; and have the ability to foster positive relationships
within the community, other levels of government and the media. This
position oversees the Departments of Engineering, Public Works
and Agriculture.
You possess well developed interpersonal
and communication skills and are able to operate at both the
strategic and operational levels. Your financial, planning, analytical, report writing,
presentation and communication skills are exceptional. Success
in the position will be based upon a demonstrated ability to mentor,
lead, advise and problem solve. You must have a high level
of political and corporate savvy and be able to relate to all levels
of employees and government.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A formal, post-secondary education in an engineering
discipline is required.
- Professional Designation of P.Eng. or C.E.T. or
eligible to obtain this designation would be considered an asset.
- Minimum ten (10) years related management and
administrative experience, with at least five (5) years at a
senior level, preferably in a public sector organization, including
staff supervision and project management.
- Experience in one or more of the major functional
areas of the department would be an asset.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience
may be considered.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License. A
current Driver’s
Abstract must be provided.
