Job Description
The Town of Raymond Corporate Services department is seeking an experienced full-time, permanent employee for the role of Community Development Officer.  This multi-faceted position will provide many interesting and important projects, which will shape the sustainability of this lively community. 

The Community Development Officer is responsible to supply development, economic development, and communications expertise and leadership for the organization.  The Officer is to carry out these responsibilities in accordance with the objectives, policies and plans approved by Council.  A comprehensive description of duties is available at www.raymond.ca.
 
Education

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing, Management, Business Administration, or other relevant discipline.
• Completion of (or willingness to complete) Certified Local Government Manager program or other relevant professional program.

Experience

• Marketing and administrative experience in the municipal sector or equivalent.
• The ideal candidate will have a combination of the following experiences, preferably in a municipal government setting:
  1. As a positively-contributing member of a successful team.
  2. As an effective communicator and resource to elected officials, volunteer boards and committees, partner organizations, other departments within the organization, and members of the public.
  3. As a well-organized employee with multitasking abilities.

Skills and Attributes
The Community Development Officer will have a progressive record in communications, marketing, and administration, demonstrating positive relationships with elected officials, media, staff, and the community.  The Community Development Officer will feel comfortable working in a team-based environment, as well as individually.
