DISTRICT OF SICAMOUS,

Located midway between Vancouver and Calgary, and situated on
both Mara and Shuswap Lakes, the District of Sicamous (population
3166 up to 10,000 summer) is seeking a skilled and motivated individual
to assume the role of Chief Administrative Officer/Director of
Corporate Administration to replace the retiring incumbent.
In assuming the responsibility for managing
the affairs of the District, significant experience in community
growth and development is necessary. Reporting to the Mayor and
Councillors, the ideal candidate will be a seasoned local government
practitioner in a similar role, possessing excellent skills in
negotiating, demonstrated leadership and effective communications. The CAO must be
progressive, innovative, and thrive on challenges and change. Superior
interpersonal and proven management skills are required in leading
a team of motivated and dedicated managers.
Qualifications include a senior certificate in Local Government
Management in BC or a degree/diploma in public administration from
a recognized institution, and post secondary education in a related
discipline, as well as a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible
experience in local government management.
