Wheatland County, a progressive rural municipality east of Calgary is currently accepting applications for a full time permanent position of Senior Community Peace Officer.
This position is part of the Protective Services Team and is responsible for the supervision of the community peace officers by monitoring and adjusting delivery of services, assessing community and business needs, and responding to various Council and Department initiatives for enforcement of Municipal By-Laws, Provincial and Federal statutes and departmental procedures and policies commercial vehicle weights and dimensions, and traffic enforcement are consistently adhered to and applied as required,
The ideal candidate must possess supervisory skills, well developed interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated ability to deal with the public in a courteous and efficient manner. Successful completion of a recognized post secondary Law Enforcement program, or completion of the Alberta Justice Staff College’s Peace Officer Training Program is required. Experience with commercial vehicle enforcement would be an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Must be eligible for a Level 1 Peace Officer appointment.
